Report: What are the most effective strategies to increase and de-risk investment in nature-based solutions for infrastructure so that cities can be prepared for future extreme climate-related event? The objectives of the session will be:

  • Convene real estate, tech and digital services, and financial services sectors to discuss the extreme climate-related risks at the city scale and the solutions nature provides to address them.
  • Identify the main gaps (knowledge, data, policy, tools, incentives, financial mechanisms) preventing major implementation of the nature-based solutions as a proven strategy to reduce climate-related risks at the city scale.
  • Devise the most effective collaboration pathway to anticipate future shocks, incorporate nature in the built environment and de-risk investment in nature-based solutions to withstand climate-related hazards at the city scale.

Role: Discussion leader – introduce their expertise and lead a roundtable (Governance for urban resilience), directing the exchanges between participants, pushing them to debate concepts and ideas, and inspiring an active discussion around four main questions (+the guiding questions provided in the pre-read document)
