Robin van Boxtel
Economic & Financial Counsellor for the Netherlands at the OECDVan Boxtel is a Dutch diplomat and political economist. He currently serves as Economic Counselor at the Netherlands Permanent Delegation to the OECD in Paris, where he works on a wide range of economic and financial issues, including climate finance and the macroeconomic effects of climate policies.
Previously, he was Head of the Climate, Energy, Raw Materials, and Water cluster at the Netherlands Embassy in Jakarta, where he led bilateral cooperation efforts and managed funding for renewable energy and climate adaptation initiatives. He also coordinated the Netherlands’ role as implementing partner for the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
Earlier in his career, Van Boxtel coordinated the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ engagement with the IMF and World Bank, focusing on climate finance and project development. He has also worked at Fitch Ratings in London and lectured at Leiden University, among others.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Political Economy (with distinction) from King’s College London and a Bachelor’s in Political Science (major in International Relations and a minor in European and macroeconomics) from the University of Amsterdam.
