Fabian Dablander

Postdoctoral researcher at SEVEN, University of Amsterdam

Fabian Dablander is a postdoctoral researcher at SEVEN, the interdisciplinary climate institute of the University of Amsterdam. His research lies at the intersection of behavioural science, sustainability, and statistics. Fabian aims to bridge methodological rigor with applied societal impact, focusing on identifying behavioural and policy-level interventions that can help societies stay within planetary boundaries. Previously, he was based at the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics and the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Amsterdam. He completed his PhD in the Department of Psychological Methods, where he worked on Bayesian hypothesis testing, causal inference from observational data, and early warning signals of tipping points. Fabian is also involved with Polder, an initiative that brings complex systems thinking to the policymaking process, and co-organizes the annual Amsterdam Complexity School on Climate Change.
