Session Overview
Gupta, J. (2023). Earth system justice: Without a just approach we may not be able to live within Earth system boundaries. Keynote at “Transformation Labs, Researching Pathways towards Sustainable Development”, University of Copenhagen, Denmark (CLIFF/Earth Commission), 17 February
Details
Report: Kick-of seminar and three rounds of steered discussions between scientists, policy makers and practitioners that will lead to concrete contributions to transformation that can be implemented immediately. The starting point is the six entry points for sustainable development in the UN Global Sustainable Development Report 2019 (many of the authors of the report are also helping us with the process). We will use the pillars for discussing proposals and research that can fast track sustainable development. The process will be broad and have participants from various backgrounds and the goal of the kick-off is to provide thought-provoking ideas for discussion and development of common ground for the discussions that will follow later in the process. The three keynote speakers will share their views of the most pressing issues under the headlines of the six levers in the GSDR-report and that their talks will reflect not only research results but be forward-looking and lay foundations for a broad discussion of how researchers, policy-makers, citizens and politicians might find common pathways for sustainable development. video
